Privacy Policy
This document is the canonical English privacy notice for AI Coloring Studio.
Effective Date: April 27, 2026
AI Coloring Studio ("we", "our", "us") operates the AI Coloring Studio mobile application (iOS and Android) and the online studio at app.aicoloring.studio (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible — most of what you create with the Service stays on your own device.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Anonymous Account Identifier
The Service signs each user in anonymously through Firebase Authentication on first launch. This creates a randomly generated user ID (a "UID") that is stored on your device and used to keep your subscription state and free generation counters in sync between sessions and devices that share the same store account. The UID is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any contact information.
1.2 Subscription and Free Tier State
For each anonymous UID we maintain a small record in Google Cloud Firestore. The record stores:
- Your current plan (free, Lite, Plus, or Family) and billing period (monthly or yearly), if any
- Your credit balance for paid plans and credit packs
- Your remaining free generations and the timestamp of the last daily refresh
- Counters for total generations and the timestamp of your last AI generation
- Plan expiry timestamps and a creation timestamp
This information is necessary to enforce free tier limits, deliver paid AI features, and prevent abuse. It is tied only to the anonymous UID — it does not include your name, email, or device identifiers.
1.3 Content Submitted for AI Processing
When you use AI features, the following content is sent to our AI providers for processing:
- Voice input: Voice is transcribed to text on the device using the operating system speech recognition API or, on the web, the browser's Web Speech API. The resulting text prompt is then sent for AI processing. Audio is not sent to our servers or to AI providers.
- Suggested prompts: When you tap a built-in suggestion, the corresponding text is sent for AI processing.
- Photos (Photo to Line Art and Smart Colorize, paid features): The image you select is uploaded to the AI provider so it can be converted into a coloring page or colorized. The image is processed for that single conversion and is not stored on our servers afterwards.
All AI inputs are screened for inappropriate, violent, or adult content before they reach the AI providers. Requests that fail the safety filter are rejected.
1.4 Drawings, Projects, and Preferences
Drawings, projects, color palettes, and app preferences are stored locally on your device — in IndexedDB on the web and in the device file system on iOS and Android. We do not upload your artwork to our servers.
1.5 Device and Technical Information
Standard server logs (such as IP address, request timestamps, and basic device information sent by the browser or operating system) are automatically generated by the hosting and AI provider infrastructure for security, reliability, and abuse prevention. We do not combine these logs with the anonymous UID for tracking purposes.
1.6 What We Do NOT Collect
- Personal names, email addresses, or phone numbers (unless you contact support and choose to share them)
- Precise location data
- Contact lists or address book information
- Photos or files beyond what you explicitly select for an AI conversion
- Behavioral or advertising profiles — the Service contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
2. How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- Provide and operate the Service
- Enforce free tier limits and deliver paid AI features
- Process AI generation requests and return the result to your device
- Manage subscriptions and credit balances
- Investigate and prevent abuse of the Service
- Respond to support requests you send us
We do not sell personal information. We do not share information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on a small set of trusted third-party providers. Each handles a specific function and is bound by its own privacy policy and data processing terms.
- Firebase (Google LLC) — Authentication, Firestore, App Hosting: Stores the anonymous UID and the subscription/credit record, and serves the Service infrastructure. See Google's Firebase Privacy and Security page.
- RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) — Subscription Management (mobile apps only): Manages in-app subscriptions and credit pack purchases on iOS and Android. RevenueCat receives the anonymous UID as the customer identifier and the subscription/purchase events forwarded by Apple and Google. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or payment card details.
- fal.ai (Features and Labels, Inc.) — Primary AI Image Generation: Receives text prompts and, for paid features, the photo you submit, in order to generate or transform a coloring page. Outputs are returned to your device.
- Google Vertex AI / Gemini (Google LLC) — AI Prompt Processing and Fallback: Used for prompt safety screening and as a fallback for image generation when the primary provider is unavailable. Google's data processing terms apply.
- Apple App Store and Google Play — Payment Processing: When you buy a subscription or credit pack in the mobile app, payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never see, collect, or store your payment card information.
4. Children's Privacy
The Service is designed to be safe for children and families. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States and equivalent regulations in other jurisdictions:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the user's jurisdiction) beyond the anonymous UID and subscription state described above.
- The Service contains no advertising, no social features, no chat, no comments, no user-to-user messaging, and no public profiles.
- Drawings and artwork remain on the user's device by default.
- AI inputs are filtered for age-appropriate content before being sent to AI providers.
- Parents and guardians can manage and cancel subscriptions through their Apple or Google account at any time, and can use their device's built-in screen time controls to limit overall usage.
- If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has shared personal information with us through a support request, contact us at support@aicoloring.studio and we will delete it.
5. International Users and GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, the legal bases on which we process the limited information described above are:
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the Service you have requested, including subscription management and AI generation.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
- Legal obligation — where applicable for tax, consumer, and child protection rules.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the data tied to your anonymous UID, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because the UID is anonymous, you may need to contact us from the device where the Service is installed so that we can identify and act on the right record. Send requests to support@aicoloring.studio.
6. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and CPRA provide rights to know what categories of personal information are collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your rights, contact support@aicoloring.studio.
7. Data Retention
We keep the anonymous UID and the associated subscription/credit record for as long as the Service is used or required for active subscriptions, and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle refunds, disputes, and legal obligations. Local drawings and projects remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
8. Your Choices and How to Delete Your Data
- You can clear all locally stored drawings, projects, and preferences by deleting the data in your browser (web) or by uninstalling the mobile app.
- You can cancel subscriptions at any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
- You can request deletion of the Firestore record tied to your anonymous UID by emailing support@aicoloring.studio from the device where the Service is installed, or by following the in-app delete option (where available).
9. Security
We use the security features provided by Firebase, RevenueCat, fal.ai, and Google Vertex AI, including encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure; we work to reduce risk and respond quickly to any incident.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the Service.
11. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to exercise any of the rights described above, please contact us at support@aicoloring.studio.
